WWE SummerSlam 2022 Review
WWEs biggest party of the summer was last weekend and what a party it was. We got to see epic matches, surprises, and some returns. This year's Summerslam was a decent show and it delivered. Bianca Belair successfully defended the Raw Women's Championship against Becky Lynch. First off, this match was back and forth and the history of the rivalry meant something, dating back to the previous year. So, this match was a great opener to start the show. At the end of the match, Becky and Bianca showed mutual respect to each other. Here's where things get interesting. While Bianca is celebrating, guess who's coming out. Bayley returned but she didn't come alone. Dakota Kai and Io Shirai (now known as Iyo Sky) returned as well. Next, we had The Miz vs Logan Paul and this was a really good match as well. Logan Paul really did his thing and caught Miz by surprise. Fast forward a little bit, Bobby Lashley retained the U.S. championship, Liv Morgan def. Ronda Rousey after a questionable finish to retain the Smackdown Women's Championship. Now, this match was okay at best because basically Liv was getting handed to by Ronda but the finish didn't make any sense. Ronda made Morgan tap before her shoulders were down. It will be interesting on how it plays out on Smackdown. The Usos def. The Street Profits with "Double J" Jeff Jarrett in a No Disqualification match as The Usos also retained the Unified Tag Team Championships. Also, we had The Judgement Day against The Mysterios. This match was decent as well because after Rhea Ripley and Damien Priest talked to Finn Balor without telling the original leader Edge. The Ultimate Opportunist made his return to assist The Mysterios pick up the win. Another segment was Riddle was supposedly going against Seth Rollins but due to injury by Seth, the match unfortunately never took place. That didn't stop Riddle from calling Seth and having a brawl though. Finally, the main event was a Last Man Standing Match for the WWE Undisptued Universal Championship featuring Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar. Now, this match was carnage from the jump because when Brock was making his way to the ring, he stopped halfway and went back to the stage area and got a tractor to drive to the ring. Now, this was also a back and forth match because both Lesnar and Reigns are heavy hitters. Towards, the end of the match Brock decides to get into the tractor and flip the entire ring over while Roman's inside. Roman eventually got the win over Brock and it was an amazing way to end the show. Overall, Summerslam 2022 was amazing to start this new era that WWE is going into.
Let me know how you felt about this year's Summerslam and let's have a chill discussion about it.
